Check with local city guidelines and codes when necessary, call 811  (free service) and have utilities marked out three days before installation otherwise we will come out and do a site visit prior to installation and run through minor details

Yes and no, you can get gates that operate off solar power and they do work providing the gates are not used extensively, as a general rule here in “sunny Ohio” a gate can open and close up to 30 times a day before the battery loses charge, you are also limited to the accessories you want for the gate as they will drain power.

Whenever possible We advise to have power run to the gate.

Depends on the gate and style but there is an override for every gate, swing arms generally have a key on the top that allows you to put the gate arms in manual and you can physically open the gate, other types have a lever that you engage so the gate will open manually, all this is explained to you when your gate is installed or serviced and you can always call us at Zimmer Gates & Doors and we can talk you through it if we are unable to get out within a reasonable time.

Yes, we do! Zimmer Gates & Doors services and maintains automated driveway gate systems installed by anyone, whether it be a local handyman, electrician, or another gate company. We will even check over your gate system and provide you a list of recommended changes if we think any are necessary. No matter how many issues you have had with your system, you can trust Zimmer Gates & Doors to make it right.

Generally no, you do not. We are able to troubleshoot most problems at the gate location without needing access inside your home. Of course, there are times when we will require someone to be home – for example, if you have an issue with your telephone entry system, or an issue is traced to a circuit breaker located within the house.

Garage Door Questions and Answers

Standard sizes are whole width increments starting at 8′ wide and going to 20′ wide. Some door series have sizes smaller than that. Standard heights are 7′ and 8′ tall. Odd-heights and odd-widths are also available and vary by individual door series.

If your garage will be subjected to extreme temperatures, hot or cold, consider a well-insulated door to ensure your maximum comfort. The higher a door’s R-value, the greater its insulating properties. Insulated doors offer R-values up to 17.5. This is made possible by a continuous layer of foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation sandwiched between two layers of rust- and corrosion-resistant steel. These doors also feature between-section seals that provide added resistance to air infiltration, as well as bulb-type bottom seals that guard against wind and rain.
